You may have noticed a little red button on the bottom of some of my recent recipes that looks a little like this:
Today, I’m excited to tell you about my new partnership with Chicory App, a new online tool that allows you add your favorite recipe ingredients to a shopping cart; then have the groceries delivered right to your door! How cool is that?
Chicory was created to help busy people get cooking. From recipe discovery to grocery delivery, Chicory is the easiest way to cook recipes you find on the web without visiting the store. They work directly with existing online grocers in your neighborhood like Peapod to deliver you fresh ingredients for your recipes (and any other groceries you might need too). Right now, it’s so new that it is primarily located in approximately 4,000 zip codes in the NYC area, but they’re growing fast!
Here is How It Works
Find your favorite recipe on Carrie’s Experimental Kitchen and click on the red Cook This Recipe button at the bottom of the recipe box. (As of right now, the button will be available 1-2 days after it is initially posted so come back if you don’t see it right away).
Then click on the orange Get Ingredients button. The grocery items will then be listed in your Cart.
From here you will be able to:
- See the grocery items you will need to purchase for this recipe by category
- Print out a shopping list if you are in an area where delivery is not yet available
- See your total price (this is to purchase the item listed and is not necessarily the cost for the recipe)
- Change the brand of the specific item by using the drop down menu
You will also be able to browse other recipes and filter by preferences saved on this website; then add those ingredients to your shopping cart as well.
