My favorite all time salad is the classic tomato, mozzarella and basil salad or Caprese Salad if you will. I generally make mine with balsamic vinegar and it's a huge hit, but wanted to experiment with something new and came up with this Mediterranean Tomato, Mozzarella & Celery Salad.

How do you make Tomato, Mozzarella and Celery Salad?

For this salad I also used the Ciliegine mozzarella; which are the smaller, bite sized cheese balls;  a mixture of Sunburst golden tomatoes and Cherub grape tomatoes and crisp celery.

For the dressing I used a simple mixture of fresh squeezed lemon juice, oregano (I prefer fresh but didn't have any so I substituted dried oregano for this recipe), extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper.

Mediterranean Tomato, Mozzarella & Celery Salad

This Tomato, Mozzarella and Celery Salad was FANTASTIC! It was light and lemony; sweet and crunchy all in one. It also only takes about 10 minutes to make; which is great for those last minute get togethers. ~Enjoy!

This looks perfect! Especially now that the weather is warming up.

My family loves trying new salads and this will definitely be on the menu soon. Love that mozzarella!

Yes, mozzarella is one of our favorites as well and I just love the "crunch" the celery adds to this salad too. šŸ™‚

Backyard/deck dining with the family sounds nice, I'm sure someday you'll get out for a more involved picnic. I love the little mozzarella balls combined with cherry tomatoes, your salad looks very pretty with all the colors combined.

I hope so too Mary, I'll have to make specific plans to do so this summer. Thank you so much for stopping by!

    Carrie,
I never knew, until I joined a CSA, just how flavorful celery could be. Like fresh local strawberries taste better than the shipped ones, and backyard garden tomatoes taste better than the store-bought ones. Celery is just them same. Who knew?

I look forward to trying this salad when my CSA provides me with these goodies--thanks!

You're welcome Kirsten! Celery is flavorful and I don't eat it as often either. I always forget. šŸ™‚

The "Nutrition Facts" say the calories are 56 - how many servings for the recipe? Thanks!

I apologize, but there was an error when the recipe card switched over to a new format. There are 8 servings and it's 130 calories per serving. I've updated the nutrition facts on the recipe; which are calculated by My Nutrition Pal and may not be 100% accurate. Thank you for bringing it to my attention and I hope you enjoy the recipe Rebecca!
