Ingredients Needed

Bacon: You can use any bacon you like whether it's traditional pork, low sodium or even turkey bacon.

All Purpose Flour

Baking Powder

Baking Soda

Salt

Black Pepper

Cold Butter: I used salted butter, but you can use unsalted. You'll want to make sure the butter is cold though since you will be grating it into the batter.

Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Sour Cream: You can use regular or low fat.

Gather all of your ingredients before starting to prepare these delicious bacon and cheddar drop biscuits!

Preheat the Oven

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F; then line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Cook the Bacon

You'll want to cook the bacon first so that they're crispy and ready to use in the drop biscuits. There are several methods: oven, stovetop or microwave.

Use whichever method you prefer; then drain the bacon on paper towels to absorb the excess grease and chop into pieces.

How do you make Bacon and Cheddar Drop Biscuits?

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and pepper; mix well.

Using the large holes on a box grater, shred the butter into the dry mixture; then add the cheese, sour cream and chopped bacon.

Mix well with a wooden spoon until the dough is combined. Using a kitchen soup spoon, scoop out the dough onto the baking sheet, leaving 2-inches in between each biscuit. You should get 12 biscuits.

Place the pan in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are light brown and the centers are puffed up. Serve warm on their own or slathered with some whipped butter.
