a pie crust with bacon and cheese quiche

Quiche has been a breakfast staple for many years, but it also makes a quick and easy meal for lunch and dinner too!

It's one of those recipes where you can add a variety of ingredients and the flavor combinations are endless.

This classic version with bacon and Cheddar cheese is delicious and super easy to make. This recipe yields 6 slices and can be ready in 50 minutes. ~Enjoy!

Suggested Equipment

  • Sheet Pan
  • Pie Plate (if using refrigerated or homemade pie crust)
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Pie Cutter

Ingredients Needed

Pie Crust: You can use frozen pie crusts already in a tin, homemade or refrigerated pie crusts in your own pie plate.

Eggs

Half & Half: You can substitute heavy cream or milk in this recipe.

Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Cooked Crumbled Bacon: Cook the bacon your preferred method (oven, stove or microwave); then drain on paper towels and crumble.

Kosher Salt

Black Pepper

Prepare the Crust

If using the refrigerated pie crust, place in a pie plate on a sheet pan; then par-bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 10 minutes prior to adding the egg filling.

When using a frozen pie crust, place the tin on a baking sheet and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Assemble the Bacon and Cheddar Quiche

Add the eggs and half & half to a mixing bowl; then whisk until smooth. Stir in the cheese, crumbled bacon, salt and pepper and mix well.

Pour the egg mixture into the pie crust; then bake in the oven until the eggs are set and the top is lightly browned for approximately 45 minutes.

If the crust starts to get too brown before the egg filling sets, cover the edges with aluminum foil. Remove from the oven and allow the quiche to rest for 5 minutes before cutting into 6 slices.
