Starbuck's copycat breakfast sandwich made with turkey bacon, Cheddar cheese and egg whites on a whole wheat English muffin.
This copycat Starbuck's egg white breakfast sandwich is a healthy, delicious way to start your day. We travel to Florida a few times a year and most of the time, we pack our own food.
However, we usually need to get breakfast on the second day so we stop at Starbuck's for an iced coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Most of the time we get the Impossible Breakfast Sandwich made with a plant based sausage patty.
I was pleasantly surprised when I first tried one, but wanted to make another one of their sandwiches at home. This Turkey Bacon, Cheddar and Egg White Sandwich was the perfect option.
Especially since we regularly have turkey bacon and whole wheat English muffins at home. This breakfast sandwich was so easy to make and can be ready in about 15 minutes.
Each breakfast sandwich has only 196 calories, 14g protein and 4g fiber to help fill you up for hours! ~Enjoy!
Suggested Equipment
Ingredients Needed
Whole Wheat English Muffins: You can use any flavor you like; in fact we like honey wheat
Turkey Bacon: This recipe calls for turkey bacon, but you can use regular, low sodium or uncured pork bacon.
Egg Whites: To simplify this recipe, I used liquid egg whites, but you can use the whites of whole large eggs.

Cooking the Bacon
You can cook turkey bacon three different ways:
- Oven: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place strips of bacon on the paper in a single layer. Bake for 10 minutes; then flip bacon strips and bake another 10 minutes.
- Microwave: Place a paper towel on a microwave safe plate; then add up to 4 strips of bacon. Top with another piece of paper towel; then microwave on high for 1 minute. All microwaves are different so cook in 15 second increments until the bacon is cooked and crispy. Repeat for the rest of the bacon.
- Stovetop in a Skillet: Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium high heat; then add the strips of bacon to the pan and spray with cooking spray. Cook 2-3 minutes; then flip the strips and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. If the bacon is not cooked through and crispy, flip again until the bacon has crisped up. Since I only needed 8 pieces, this is the method I used.
You can make the bacon up to one day ahead of time and keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator. You'll just want to reheat the bacon before making the sandwich.
How do you make Starbucks Breakfast Sandwich?
First, prepare the bacon using any of the three methods (oven, microwave or skillet); then toast the English Muffins. Spray cooking spray in a small nonstick skillet and heat over medium high heat. Add 2 ounces of the egg whites and cook 3-4 minutes; turning halfway until the eggs are no longer runny.
Fold the eggs in quarters and place a slice of cheese on top. Finally, place the egg on top of the English Muffin along with two strips of bacon. Repeat for all sandwiches.
Freeze and reheat
Once the sandwich has cooled, wrap each one in aluminum foil; then seal in an airtight freezer bag. Take out the sandwich the night before you're ready to eat it and allow it to defrost in the refrigerator. Reheat in the foil wrapping in a preheated 400 degree F oven for 15-20 minutes.
This is a great way to make yourself breakfast for an entire week or if you like a variety in the morning, just take out what you need.
