We don't eat Chinese food often, but every once in a while we crave the saltiness of it. Unfortunately, there isn't a good takeout restaurant near us any longer.

In fact, the "best" one is about 25 minutes away. That is unless we want Thai food; then we go to a local Thai restaurant where our youngest daughter also happens to work.

I like the simplicity of Asian cooking; as most of the time you can add just about any combination of protein and vegetables, like I did with this Asian Skillet Chicken and Broccoli, and come out with a quick and easy meal.

Asian Chicken & Broccoli

How do you make Asian Skillet Chicken and Broccoli?

For this recipe you'll need diced boneless chicken breasts, canola oil, broccoli florets, soy sauce, honey, orange juice, garlic, chili paste, cornstarch and Ramen noodles.

Start by heating the oil in a large nonstick skillet; then add the diced pieces of chicken. Saute the pieces until they are cooked through; approximately 5-7 minutes.

While the chicken is cooking, make the sauce. Combine the soy sauce, honey, orange juice, garlic, chili paste and cornstarch in a small bowl and whisk together until smooth.

Add the broccoli to the pan and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the broccoli turns bright green, but still crunchy. I prefer to use fresh broccoli; however, you can also use frozen.

If you do use frozen just add the florets at the same time as the sauce and noodles. Next, break apart the Ramen noodles, add them to the pan; then add the sauce and mix together.

You can keep the Ramen seasoning packet to use as chicken bouillon for other recipes like this one for Italian Pastina. Cover the pan, reduce the heat to low and simmer 5-7 minutes until the noodles have softened; then serve hot.

My family loved this all-in-one Asian Skillet Chicken and Broccoli meal. The entire meal was ready in less than 30 minutes, it was super flavorful and so quick and easy to make. ~Enjoy!
