Celebrate the warmer temperatures and all of the patriotic holidays with this cool and refreshing Blue White Wine Spritzer. I'm a red wine drinker myself and prefer sangria-type recipes like this Red Wine Sangria or Italian Sangria.

However, my husband and oldest daughter prefer white wine so I wanted to share a new recipe that they might enjoy this Summer. Of course when we're poolside and in Florida, it's Patron Margarita's all the way!

What does Spritzer mean?

Spritzers are a cocktail made with wine that has been diluted with soda water. It's a very light and mild mixed drink which ranges from 8 to 14 percent Alcohol by Volume. Of course, when you add other types of hard alcohol, the volume will be increased.

What is in a Blue White Wine Spritzer?

For this recipe you'll need Blue Curacao, Coconut Rum, Sauvignon Blanc, lime flavored sparking water and ice.

What is Curacao?

Curacao is a liqueur flavored with the dried peel from the bitter orange laraha; which is a citrus fruit grown on the Dutch island of Curacao. In its natural state it's colorless; however, it's usually artificially colored blue or orange.

What is Sauvignon Blanc?

Sauvignon blanc is dry white wine that's made from green grapes and originates from the Bordeaux region of France.

Can you use other wine?

Yes! My husband prefers dry white wines so you could also use a Chardonnay. If you prefer your white wine a little on the sweeter side like our daughter, you can use a Pinot Grigio, Moscato or Riesling.

How do you make a Blue White Wine Spritzer?

Grab your favorite stemmed cocktail glass; then add ice, Blue Curacao, Rum and Wine. The glass needs to be able to hold at least 6-ounces of liquid.

Next, top with a splash the sparkling water and garnish with a slice of your favorite fruit like pineapple, oranges, or a lime. This recipe serves one, but as a good rule of thumb its 2 parts wine, 1 part rum and 1 part Blue Curacao.

You can use the recipe card below to slide the serving size up or down to make more or less. For a 16-ounce pitcher, use 8 ounces wine, 4 ounces rum and 4 ounces Blue Curacao.

Not only is this Blue White Wine Spritzer a cool and refreshing cocktail, it makes a festive beverage for all of those upcoming Patriotic holidays like Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day. Drink Responsibly and Enjoy!
