Ingredients Needed
To make these Italian-style chicken nuggets you're going to need the following ingredients:
Boneless Chicken Breasts
All Purpose Flour
Large Eggs
Italian Seasoned Breadcrumbs
Dried Oregano
Garlic Powder
Grated Pecorino Romano Cheese
Cooking Spray
Preheat the Oven
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F; then line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Chicken
Rinse the chicken under cold water; pat dry. Dice the chicken into 1-inch pieces; which is about the size of your thumb to the first joint.
They're easier if they're bite-sized, but you can make them into larger pieces if you'd like. I got 60 pieces out of 1 ½ pounds of chicken.
Bread the Chicken
Prepare three bowls for breading the chicken. In the first bowl add the flour and in the second add the eggs; whisk.
In the third bowl add the breadcrumbs, oregano, garlic powder and cheese; mix well. Coat each piece of chicken first in the flour, then egg and then the breadcrumb mixture.
Once breaded, place the chicken on the baking sheet and repeat for all pieces.
Bake the Chicken Nuggets
Spray the top of the chicken with cooking spray and place in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the outside is crispy and golden brown.
Serving Suggestions
You can serve these chicken nuggets for lunch, dinner or as a snack with your favorite marinara sauce or try our copycat Chick-Fil-A Sauce; which tastes fantastic!
