Suggested Equipment
Ingredients Needed
To make these sliders you'll need the following ingredients:
Ground Chicken Breast: I use the leanest I can find which is 98% fat free.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Dried Oregano
Marinara Sauce: You'll only need about ½ cup so you can use homemade or store bought.
Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Hawaiian Slider Rolls: With their sweet, buttery flavor and soft texture, these make the best sandwich rolls.
Melted Butter
Garlic Powder: I used garlic powder, but you can add fresh minced garlic to the melted butter too.
Parsley (optional): You can sprinkle some chopped or dried parsley on top of the rolls to give them a little color, but it's not required.
How do you make Ground Chicken Parm Sliders?
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F; then line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
Heat the oil over medium-high heat in a large nonstick skillet; then add the ground chicken and oregano. Cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes until it's no longer pink; then add the sauce and mix well.
Leaving the slider rolls attached, cut them in half horizontally and place the bottoms on the baking sheet and set the tops aside. Sprinkle half of the cheese on the rolls; then top with the ground chicken mixture.
Top the chicken with the remaining cheese; then add the tops of the slider rolls. Combine the melted butter and garlic powder in a small dish; then brush the butter mixture on the tops of the rolls.
Sprinkle with parsley, if desired; then bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese has melted and the tops are golden brown.
Remove the pan from the oven and transfer to a cutting board. Using a serrated knife, cut through the perforations to form 16 chicken parm sliders.
Variations of Ground Chicken Parm Sliders
While these Ground Chicken Parm Sliders are delicious as written, there are a few variations you can try to mix things up. Here are a few ideas:
- Add some chopped sun-dried tomatoes or roasted red peppers to the meat mixture for an extra burst of flavor.
- Swap out the marinara sauce for pesto for a different twist on the classic flavors.
- Use different types of cheese, such as provolone or cheddar, in place of the mozzarella.
- Top the sliders with some fresh basil or arugula for a pop of color and freshness.
