Peanut Butter Brownie Bites made with your favorite brownie mix, egg whites, applesauce and creamy peanut butter.

My family loves brownies and we keep a box mix in the pantry for those last minute cravings. We also like them frozen so they're readily available!

These brownie bites are a twist on classic brownies and with the combination of chocolate and peanut butter, they're super decadent.

The best part is that they are bite-sized and lightened up a bit using egg whites and applesauce instead of oil. Perfect for dessert sampler platters!

This recipe makes 36 brownie bites and can be ready in under 30 minutes. ~Enjoy!

Suggested Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Mini Muffin Pan (you'll either need 2 or cook them in batches)
  • Cooling Rack

Ingredients Needed

To make these brownie bites you're going to need the following ingredients:

Box Brownie Mix: We like the Supreme Chocolate Chunk brownies because they're super chocolatey, but you can use any brand.

Egg Whites: You can use liquid egg whites or the whites of whole eggs.

Unsweetened Applesauce:Another staple we always have in the pantry are those 4-ounce snack cups of applesauce. Not only do they make a healthy snack, they make a great substitution when baking.

Creamy Peanut Butter: We prefer creamy peanut butter, but if you like the extra nuts, you can use chunky or any other type of nut butter.

Cooking Spray

How do you make Peanut Butter Brownie Bites?

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F; then spray the inside of the mini muffin pan with cooking spray. You can also use mini paper liners instead.

Combine the brownie mix, egg whites, applesauce and peanut butter in a bowl and mix until just combined. Fill the batter in each section about ¾ of the way to the top.

Bake in the oven for 15-18 minutes or until batter has risen. Allow to cool slightly; then remove the brownie bites and place them on a cooling rack until they're cooled completely.

Storage

You can store these peanut butter brownie bites in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. You can also freeze them for up to 3 months.
