Peanut Butter Truffles

Chunky peanut butter coated in dark chocolate make these Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Bombs the perfect flavor combination.

Peanut butter and chocolate make the perfect combination and these Peanut Butter Truffles are TO DIE FOR! They're so easy to make and don't require any baking. BONUS!

Though they only take minutes to make, you'll need to allow for extra time chill before dipping them in chocolate.

My family loves truffles and some of their favorites are Oreo Truffles, Dark Chocolate Coconut Truffles and Bailey’s Irish Cream Truffles.

Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffles

Ingredients

To make this recipe you'll need the following ingredients:

  • peanut butter
  • confectioners sugar
  • melted butter
  • milk
  • dark chocolate

I chose to use creamy peanut butter and melted dark chocolate chips, but you can use the following substitutions:

  • chunky peanut butter
  • another nut butter
  • milk chocolate
  • white chocolate

Peanut Butter Truffles on a plate

How do you make peanut butter truffles?

Start by adding the peanut butter, sugar, butter and milk to a bowl; then using an electric mixer blend until combined and the mixture is crumbly.

Form into 1-inch round balls; then place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze the pan for at least 30 minutes until chilled.

You can melt the chocolate one of two ways:

  1. Add the chocolate to a microwave safe bowl, then cook in 15 minute increments until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
  2. Add the chocolate to a double boiler, add water to the bottom portion; then cook over medium high heat on top of the stove until the chocolate is melted and smooth.

When the truffles are ready, remove from the freezer and dip each one into the melted chocolate. Place back on the baking sheet and repeat for all truffles. Place the pan in the refrigerator until the chocolate hardens.

Storage

Keep the Peanut Butter Truffles stored in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Uh you should change the 15 minutes to 15 seconds to melt the chocolate … in case there’s a new cook trying out the recipe 🙂

Great recipe that's close to my heart - I'm from Ohio where these little balls of deliciousness are called Buckeyes & they're made in every kitchen in the state! We only dip three-quarters of the peanut butter ball in chocolate so that the treats resemble the buckeye nut that the state is famous for. Always a crowd pleaser 🙂
