Thin sliced turkey cutlets stuffed with Italian prosciutto and fresh sage is quick and easy delicious, low carb meal.
If you're looking for an easy recipe that is loaded with flavor, these Turkey Prosciutto Rolls are for you. Sometimes I just need to get dinner on the table with as little effort as possible.
You know those days where you're so busy that you can barely find time to breathe, let alone think of something to feed the family.
This recipe is so easy to make I can hardly call it a recipe at all since there are only 3 ingredients. Besides, it's also great if you follow a gluten free or low carb or Keto diet.
Ingredients Needed
For this recipe you'll need the following ingredients:
- Thin sliced turkey cutlets
- Italian sliced prosciutto; which is dry cooked ham
- Fresh chopped sage
- Cooking Spray
- Garlic Powder
- Kosher Salt
- Black Pepper
Prosciutto can sometimes be a little pricey so other alternatives you can use are boiled ham, bacon, pancetta, capicola or salami.
Also, thin sliced chicken cutlets can be used if turkey can't be found.
How do you make Turkey Prosciutto Rolls?
Start by preheating the oven to 425 degrees F; then spray a baking dish with cooking spray. Lay out the turkey cutlets flat surface, like cutting board; then top each one with a slice of Prosciutto and add about a teaspoon of chopped fresh sage on top of that.
Roll the turkey, secure with a toothpick; then place seam side down in the dish. Repeat for all pieces; then spray the tops of the turkey with cooking spray and sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Place in the oven and bake 20-25 minutes until the turkey is cooked through and the internal temperature is at least 170 degrees F. Remove the toothpicks before serving.
Other Recipe Options
My family loved these Turkey Prosciutto Rolls and the fresh sage combined with the Italian Prosciutto was delicious.
We opted for a gluten free, low carb version for dinner, but here are a few other ideas
- I opted to omit cheese, but you could add a slice of Provolone, Mozzarella or add some grated Parmesan cheese before rolling up the turkey.
- Once the turkey is stuffed you can dip it into flour, then an egg wash; then Italian breadcrumbs and fry it in oil in a skillet on top of the stove.
- After you place the turkey cutlets in the dish, you could drizzle the top with a balsamic glaze (like I did with these chicken pesto roll ups)
- Instead of sage, you can use chopped fresh rosemary or basil.
