Apple Cheddar Bread made with shredded apples, pecans, cinnamon and Cheddar cheese is a delicious quick bread that's chewy and not overly sweet.
Every year our family goes apple picking and we wind up with a TON of apples! Over the years I've made Cinnamon Apple Chips, Apple Raisin Walnut Loaf Bread, Homemade Applesauce and traditional apple pie.
However, I also like to experiment with a new recipes too and made this Apple Cheddar Bread. I found a similar recipe in an old cookbook and decided to tweak it a bit and we loved this recipe.
How do you make Apple Cheddar Bread?
For this recipe you'll need all purpose flour, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, chopped pecans, milk, eggs, melted butter, granulated sugar, shredded apples and Cheddar cheese.
Start by combining the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and pecans in a large mixing bowl. Next, add the milk, eggs, butter and sugar to another mixing bowl; then whisk until blended and add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.
Peel and core the apples; then using a box grater, shred the apples and add them along with 1 cup of the cheese to the dry mixture. Mix together until well blended; then pour into a 9-inch x 5-inch loaf pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
Finally, sprinkle the remaining Cheddar cheese on top and bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 60-65 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool slightly; then cut into 16 slices.
This Apple Cheddar Bread is more savory than sweet and it's chewy in texture. Serve warm slathered with a little cinnamon butter and I'll guarantee this loaf won't last long! ~Enjoy!

I haven't tried baking with gluten free flour so I'm not sure if it will work or not.
