Grape Tomato Vinaigrette is a light, flavorful dressing that's perfect on top of your favorite salad or used as a dip for your favorite vegetables.

A bowl of Grape Tomato Vinaigrette

Years ago, there was a local, family owned restaurant by our home called Sonny's On The Lake. We liked this restaurant for several reasons.

One being it was close; only about 10 minutes away, the food was always good and the service was impeccable.

In fact, Sonny himself always picked out the best wines for us to try and we were never disappointed. They also served a salad before every meal with this amazing Grape Tomato Vinaigrette.

One day I finally asked him what was in it and I recreated it at home.

How do you make Grape Tomato Vinaigrette?

For this recipe you'll need grape tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil, extra virgin olive oil, distilled white vinegar, grated Pecorino Romano cheese and of course a little salt and pepper.

Combine all of the ingredients in a mini food processor and blend until smooth.

Grape Tomato Vinaigrette

This recipe makes 1 cup and is perfect on top of a tossed salad or you can also use it as a dip for a crudité platter.

Though this Grape Tomato Vinaigrette didn't taste exactly like his, this recipe came super close.

I think his version must have some sugar in it because it was a little sweeter than mine, but I'd rather not add the extra sugar anyway.

Thankfully I have this recipe because this restaurant sadly is no longer in business so now I can make it at home. ~Enjoy!

I can see why this would be delicious. They're preactically the ingredients for a caprese salad.

I have a plethora of cherry tomatoes right now so I think I might have to adapt this recipe for my cherry tomatoes!
