Ingredients Needed
Before you can start making your delicious strawberry hazelnut crostini, you'll need to gather all of your ingredients. Here's what you'll need:
Baguette: A baguette is a long, thin loaf of French bread. You'll need to slice the loaf into 24 thin rounds. Sometimes your local grocery store will sell these already packaged in their bakery section.
Fresh Strawberries: Make sure to use ripe, juicy strawberries for the best flavor and texture in your crostini
Granulated Sugar: We added a bit of sugar to cut the tartness of the strawberries, but adding a little honey will work too.
Hazelnut Spread: This is a common pantry item in our home and can usually be found near the peanut butter and jelly section of the supermarket. It's also commonly known as "Nutella"; however, they do make other brands.
Cooking Spray
How do you make Strawberry Hazelnut Crostini?
To prepare the crostini, preheat your oven to 375 degrees F; then cut the baguette into thin rounds.
Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet; then spray the tops with cooking spray. Bake for 4-6 minutes or until the crostini are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before assembling.
Wash and dry the strawberries; then remove the stems and dice them into small pieces and place in a small bowl.
To assemble the crostini, spread the hazelnut spread onto each slice; then top with some of the diced fresh strawberries.
