Fall is in the air; which means all things apple. So why not host your monthly bunco gathering with an Apple Theme Party!

First, let me start off by saying I thought I would never in a MILLION years ever belong to a Bunco group, let alone love it.

I knew people over the years that played and they would occasionally ask me to fill in, but I never managed to actually attend one of these games.

I've now been playing on and off for over 10 years and it's so much fun!

What is Bunco?

Bunco is game played with three dice in teams. Basically, it's a night where 12 women get together, leaving their significant others, children and troubles behind, and have a fun night out with food, drink and TONS of laughter.

What happens at Bunco, stays at Bunco is our favorite motto! Since there are 12 people, each person only has to host one time per year. You can serve anything from a full meal to snacks or everything in between. It's totally up to the host.

Oh and there are prizes. We each chip in $15 dollars to play; then keep score. At the end the money is divided up amongst those particular winners.

Since my month to host was September, I decided on an apple theme. Get it?

Back to school, apples for the teacher, apple picking. Especially since a lot of our players are currently teachers.

And since cinnamon and apples go hand in hand, here are some ideas to throw your next Bunco event!

Cocktails

When hosting Bunco, it's all about the cocktails and there should be at lease one themed cocktail in the mix. Since many of my friends are red wine drinkers, here are some options:

A glass of red wine sangria

Red Apple Fall Sangria

This Sangria made with red wine, apple schnapps, and three types of juice makes the perfect Fall cocktail for any occasion.

If you're looking for a new Fall cocktail, this Fireball Apple Sangria made with five ingredients is a must try.

@ Pam If you do get a chance to play, give it a try. It really is a fun night out. Thanks for viewing my page and commenting!

@ Dave So I'm guessing your definition would fall under #1 🙂 The Sangria was really very good. Thanks for commenting!

Great post, REALLY great Sangria recipe.

I spent three years traveling through Alaska selling soup with a $5 bill in it... Me and my three partners enjoyed our own Bunco Party... probably not what you are talking about.

Dave, but you can call me Soapy Smith
