Getting kids to eat is hard! That's why this list of Kid Friendly Meals will make weeknight dinner planning a little bit easier.
I first started this blog in 2011 when our youngest was only 9 years. All she would eat were those Chicken Dino's. Seriously, I'm not making this up. When she was a baby she would eat anything I made for her. And yes, was one of those moms who made my own baby food.
At day care, the workers couldn't wait to see what she had for lunch each day because it smelled so good. At some point she stopped eating the healthy options I chose for her and gravitated towards other foods she liked the taste of better.
Chicken Dinos and Macaroni and Cheese became her staples. I tried everything to get her to eat other foods and nothing worked. That is until I started this blog and had her help me select what items I was going to make.
How did you get your kids to eat?
To get her to eat, we would shop together and she would select one new item to try each week. Then, she would help me prepare it, watch me photograph it and got to eat off of the "special plate" as she called it.
Soon, she was eating just about everything I made and loved to come home from school to see what new experiments I created each day for her to try. Involving her in the process of weeknight dinner planning worked and I hear that from so many people as well.
Get the kids involved in the kitchen as much as you can. And be patient. It is a process. They're not going to do it perfectly or keep your kitchen clean in the process.
Soon they'll be making recipes like Gnocchi with Sausage Bolognese Sauce and Caprese Shrimp Stuffed Tomatoes all by themselves! See, her she is at 9 years old making homemade gnocchi!
Kid Friendly Meals

I separated the recipes into the following categories:

Every family and child has a different flavor palate. One family might like spicy foods, another may prefer their food on the milder side. I've included a range of food preferences based on what my two girls have liked over the years. I hope that you'll find a few new recipes that you will try with your own family.
